Delegate Higginbotham will join a handful of lawmakers on a trade promotion trip to Taiwan from July 27 through August 4. The trip is being organized through the Taiwan Economic Cultural Representative Office.
Delegate Higginbotham and others will meet with representatives from Taiwanese manufacturing and energy companies to promote economic investment opportunities in West Virginia.
“I look forward to meeting with international business leaders to discuss bringing jobs to Mason, Putnam and Jackson counties,” Delegate Higginbotham said. “Taiwanese companies have already had success creating jobs in my district, and I’m hopeful to open additional opportunities for expansion as part of this trip.”
Taipei-based Far East New Century Corp. (FENC) purchased the former M&G Polymers plant in Apple Grove earlier this year. Delegate Higginbotham said he will meet with FENC executives, as well as officials from other similar companies during the trip.
“The pro-growth reforms we’ve passed in recent years have made West Virginia ripe for investment, and I look forward to telling our story in Taiwan,” Delegate Higginbotham said.
Delegate Higginbotham represents the 13th District, which covers portions of Putnam, Mason and Jackson counties.
