CHARLESTON – Senator Gregory Boso, P.E., R-Nicholas, has been appointed Chairman of the Energy, Industry, and Mining Committee.
Senator Boso also serves on the Confirmations, Enrolled Bills, Finance, Government Organization, Interstate Cooperation, and Natural Resources committees.
“Senator Boso brings such a unique perspective to our body as a professional engineer, and I can think of no better person to lead our energy committee,” Senate President Bill Cole, R-Mercer, said. “The energy industry is the backbone of our state’s economy, and I’m convinced Senator Boso’s leadership will be critical as this committee takes on its tough work this session.”
“I’m honored by the confidence Senate President Cole and the Senate leadership has in my abilities and perspectives as a professional engineer,” Senator Boso said. “The privilege of serving as the Committee Chairman of Energy, Industry and Mining recognizes the value engineers play in positively impacting people, our environment, and our future. This is an opportunity to make affirmative change and move West Virginia forward.”
The regular session of the West Virginia Legislature begins January 13.
