Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


    The WV Division of Corrections & Rehabilitation has no method to predict how many additional offenders would be sentenced to prison terms as a result of this legislation. However, for each offender so sentenced the State of West Virginia can expect a fiscal impact of $25,879 per year they are incarcerated (average annual cost per inmate in FY2018).
